Flavours of the Word: Cuban Mojitos

31 July 2012

The middle of winter always seems to be the best time for a bit of escapism. So mix up a couple of these beautiful Cuban Mojitos, turn up the heating, slap on some shades and picture yourself relaxing by a perfect white sandy beach with crystal clear water lapping at your toes - perfect!

  • A handful of Mint leaves
  • Half a lime
  • One tablespoon of caster sugar
  • White Rum - you choose how much
  • Soda Water
  • Crushed Ice

Add the sugar and mint to a tall glass. Cut the lime into wedges and squeeze juice into the glass. Give it all a mix to combine, and add the lime segments. Add loads of ice, a decent glug of rum (go on - one more) and top up with Soda Water. Give it all a good stir, add a straw. Kick back and dream of Cuban sunshine!
